My first stop on my solo Maldives trip was Kurumba. Highly would recommend visiting the first resort in the Maldives! Especially appreciate their boat transfer from the airport. It was a bit choppy and the boat handled it very gracefully. I know there are SO many options but once I got to Kurumba I adored it. The outdoor shower in my bathroom was the absolute best part. My room opened up right to the beach. Every staff member said hello and was very friendly. It’s a quiet get away. As any island resort it can get a little expensive but I highly recommend visiting the spa! There is a live DJ and some night life I believe Thursday-Saturday and Kurumba offers daily events such as snorkeling, cooking classes, etc.

I loved the place! It can be expensive for some people but a very beautiful place! The food is halal and delicious. There are many wine choices but if you are Muslim they can remove alcohol from your room. The water is free in the rooms but the rest you have to pay when you check out! I loved the private pool but you can visit the public pool if you would like! If you want the best holiday experience in your life I recommend this fantastic place!

Not the best location due to its proximity to the airport. Water quality around the island is not the best MALE can offer. Staff are friendly and well trained

Perfect place to be. Couldn't ask for a better place. From arrival to the very end the experience has been fantastic. I can only wish for everyone to visit this magic little paradise to experience life worth break, happiness, good service and a diverse environment. I love this place and u could come back.

5 stars for this amazing resort! It’s the perfect place for honeymoon. You can feel peace and quiet in the beautiful scene around this trip. Food was tasty in all their restaurants. Rooms were quite clean and very comfortable. People were all nice there. They made me feel we were special. Strongly recommend this resort for vacation!

lovely place close to the airport you can get there by boat. Clean and nice room especially the ones with swimming pool. Kids play ground and many activities throughout the day

I was here since 1990s. It has transformed itself into a nice and beautiful hotel compare to the 90s. Wifi strong enough for guests to chat online. Hotel staff are nice and friendly.

This is the first resort in the Maldives opened in 1972. Over the years they have transformed keeping up with the latest trends. Resort is located just 10 minutes from Velana International Airport. There are a wide range of accommodation including the standard rooms to villas with private pools. They also offer some of the widest range of food and beverage outlets with flavours from around the world.

Beautiful hotel in a private island 10 minutes away from the airport by speedboat. The place is quite and the sand beaches and ocean views are stunning. I was amazed by how clean it was all around, even the bathroom which was partially in the open. The staff was really nice and helpful all the time too. I highly recommend this hotel for a romantic or peaceful holiday.

As you know Maldivian islands are really next to heaven. If you love white sand and crystal water all over then it's the perfect place for you. Kurumba resorts is on the very first island that comes after the main island that is MALE (Airport Island) so it's quite easy to reach within few minutes which would save your lots of money for transfers.
The island is full of natural beauty with restaurants and different room categories.
It's highly recommend if you're planning for Maldives vacation.
It's a request to Kurumba that please add water villas/over the water villas as they are the single thing which is lacking in Kurumba otherwise it's next to paradise.

It is a very nice experience with Kurmba resort. Every thing is perfect starting from warm welcome at the reception, the room, amazing all restaurants and water activities.
Staffs are unique such as never when meet you when walking around start great,stop and smiling.
Spa you must do it with them believe me.

This resort is a paradise , 7mins far from the airport by speed boat. Very family friendly place, with lots of activities and amazing white sand beaches .. good location for snorkeling, less for diving.. you can find 5 different restaurants, with acceptable food selections.. Highly recommend if you planning shorter trip to Maldives and don’t want spend time on additional transport to further islands.. only one negative point, occasional noise from departing planes..

The Spa was great, very relaxing and the Buffet for lunch & dinner spread was awesome.

Beautiful setting, with the north side of the island - which does not face Male - having the better views. Food was very good. Staff was friendly and professional. Not inexpensive, but a good value.

Everything you need in one place. Impeccable service. Beautiful surroundings. It's an oasis. Recommended for couples and families. Its very near to airport so saves a lot of inward travel time.

Well maintained resort in Maldives, Loved the hospitality provided, rooms were cleanly maintained. We have booked beach view villa, Enjoyed the beauty of the sea from the room. The staffs are friendly and helping. They have limited veg options in Buffet, but they will prepare some veg items on request. It has well maintained gym(free), Spa(It cost you), indoor and outdoor sports activities. If you are looking for some adventure, you can do scuba diving, kayaking, sailing. They have sunset and dolphin cruise(Costs you).

An experience par excellence ! It is an expensive experience for an Indian but worth it. So serene and pristine is the island that one would wish one settles on it. The prices on booking websites may not indicate it but they don't include the 23.2% GST that is applicable to almost everything one purchases not only in Kurumba but in the Maldives. The basic rooms at Kurumba itself are really good. I'm posting pictures.

The first resort to open up in the Maldives. Despite the property being more than 45 years old, the resort is still the epitome of luxury. It is in close proximity to the capital island Male and the airport island. They have a number of differently themed restaurants. They also have beach villas and water villas.

I had the most wonderful, enjoyable experience with Kurumba the entire duration of my stay! The staff is friendly and genuinely care about the guests' happiness, and they went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and happy! There are tons of options for great food and plenty of fun things to do! It was definitely an experience I'll never forget, and I can't wait to be back!

This is an excellent place with kind people and good food. An oldest currort in Maldives but when you walk around you would never say it. Everything is in superb conditions. Many facilities for guests (gym, SPA) that makes enjoyable time when weather is creepy ;) it is really worth visiting

Fantastic resort for families with kids. Very courteous staff. They have a variety of restaurants.

Perfect in every way u can imagine, I booked the deluxe pool villa,which is very spacious you can accommodate two kids comfortabley in it, good food, it's perfect for children as they have a great recreational activities for the young ones,the beaches are clean, staff are super friendly, my favourite part is that unlike other resorts in Maldives they will let you know of all the hidden charges in the meal packages depending what u choose.
The resort doesn't have water villas but I didn't mind as my deluxe pool very was perfect and had direct access to an amazing beach.
The resort is very close to make city (15 min speed boat ride).

Wow! What a great resort!! My wife & I spent 3 nights at this resort & it was breathtaking experience. We stayed in beach bungalow that opened up to the sea. Our room was beautiful with lot of amenities. Kurumba staff takes care of you from arrival to departure. Housekeeping is twice a day with fresh beach towels. Breakfast is buffet with huge variety of food to choose from.You have plenty of option for lunch/dinner. From buffet at Vihamana/Thilla to restaurants, you will have lot to indulge in. This resort deserves 5stars, but i am going with 4 as add on items are bit expensive. Also, i wasnt too impressed with the checkout process. We were hurried a bit to catch our boat, but then we were also on holiday mood 😀. Overall, fantastic place! Will i revisit the resort? Probably not, but only because i want to explore other resorts!

Amazing place!! It was my first time in Maldives and it is love at first site. Room are nice and clean, staff very helpful, pleasant and polite. Yes, the prices arent cheap, but worrh such a holiday !! Highly recommended by me 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Been here twice and have loved every minute of it. The staff are so friendly that we look forward to going back just to catch up with the people we made friends with last time. I think depending on what side of the Island you are on will mean different experiences, we were not on the side that faces the airport so had great views. Great choice in food and drink, lots of activities although you do need to pay more for these. Most people that holiday here are easy to get on with, the Russians are to be avoided as we always find them rude towards the staff but that is not the fault of the resort. Really easy to get to from the airport via free boat transfer (15mins) arranged by the hotel. Can't wait to go back.

A great choice for a Maldivian holiday, staff is absolutely wonderful, good array of restaurants and food, very relaxing place with nice lounge bar and music in the evenings, great spots for snorkelling only few meters away from the beach. Rooms of choice should be Deluxe, right in front of the beach. Whether wishing just to relax in a full therapy mood or have dynamic days with plenty activities(manta ray or dolphin cruise), Kurumba is the place. Proximity to Male gives the advantage of a good variety of food and closeness to the airport, whereas the downside would be the noise from planes or boats and the view towards the buildings on the main island. However, we were not bothered by these at all, barely heard the sound of planes.
