Me and my partner booked this hotel as a part of a romantic getaway just for the two of us. We had, initially, booked the hotel next door (Inntel hotel) and not the Mainport, so we were very pleased that we had received a free upgrade. The hotel itself was lovely, with the rooms being very spacious and luxurious (spa room, sauna included). Also, a big thank you to receptionist Sybren, whom did everything for us upon arrival with a smile and provided us with an elaborate explanation on the combi-trip we had booked (room + 2 activities in the city).

However, I do have some remarks.
Considering this is a five star hotel, I do expect a certain standard of cleanliness and my apologies, but dust behind the headboard (the strip of LED-lights) is not acceptable. I accidentally touched it when rearranging my pillows and a full wave of dust flew up, causing our pillows to be covered.

Also, when we went downstairs to enjoy our free cocktails voucher (also something we had received in our package), the staff was very rude. First of all, due to the Corona virus, we had to wait to be seated which I totally understand. But the head of service was on the phone and didn't even give us a second glance, whilst another employee (whom had seen us waiting before), was chatting away with another couple having a drink. Which again, is totally fine, but not when people are waiting to be seated and definitely not at a five star hotel...

Then, once seated, we called over a waitress whom seemed annoyed that we did so, before politely asking her how the voucher worked. She, however, didn't know anything about this and we had to explain what had been told to us by the reception... Again, not very professional. Regardless, we're not difficult people, so we didn't worry about it. However, we were kept waiting for a good fifteen minutes before our order was taken with much hostility.
There weren't a lot of people present in the lounge, so I don't really get the waiting game. Especially not when there's four waiters/waitresses running around.

Also, a tiny tip, valet parking is amazing, but don't leave vehicles standing outside for too long. It was pouring and my car had just enjoyed a visit to the car wash.

Regardless, everything else was impeccable, I really have to say.
Many thanks to receptionist Sybren again for the amazing service and hospitality with the biggest smile.

May I add that we will definitely come back just to enjoy a relaxing weekend.

As for me, the best hotel in Rotterdam, advise take room with river view, spa area is pretty nice, beds are amazing, design of rooms is little bit dark but still nice. Choice for breakfast is good, including champagne. Recommend this hotel for romantic time

The Mainport Hotel truly is a special place, if you can make sure to book a room with a hot tub in front of the window in the upper floors. This hotel really goes the extra mile and left no wishes open. Tipp: ask them to book you a water taxi to take you to your restaurant in the evening!

Super luxurious rooms. Awesome water views! Super friendly staff! Not too far of a walk to awesome shops and restaurants!

Great hotel and great service. But the Bar service and food was awful!

We had a beautiful Spa room with a great view of the river. It was definitely the nicest hotel we stayed in on our trip. The only complaint (and word of warning) I have is there was a very short step up into the bathroom that we kept tripping on. It hurt a lot when you were barefoot!
The morning breakfast was superb!
The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

I booked the Main Port Hotel through HotelTonight. Check-in was super easy, and room was ready right away. The views from the glass elevator are awesome and the room was great. Big bathtub in the room, 24 hour room service, gym, indoor pool, and spa all were fantastic. Stayed for four nights, and would come back to this hotel again. The restaurant, Down Under, is a typical hotel restaurant with average Dutch customer service, however they treated us really well. And to top it off, right next to a Metro station.

The room (specially bathroom: check out the mini private spa picture) was very nice and hip. My room was neat, clean and had a nice view of the river. Breakfast can be eaten near the river and there is a restaurant street at a 10 min. Walking distance.

Definitely get a room with the en-suite sauna! It was such a great indulgence. Rooms were well designed. Checkin was easy and pleasant. My only critique would be: the jets in the tub needs to be cleaned - there was quite a bit of build up.

Main Port Design Hotel Rotterdam is a lovely hotel. The room and bathroom were clean. The bedroom was nicely decorated. Unfortunately we had some problems with the AC. After talking to the reception ladies 3 times and stating that the AC really wasn't working they finally gave us another room. We were initially staying at the 10th floor and they proceeded to give us a room on the 4th. The AC in this room was working so we stayed there. There guest relation employee offered us a beautiful plate of sweets. We just needed to be there for a night so we let things be. However the rocky start and solution took away from our already short stay.... They have good facilities and it is nice that you can use the pool, sauna etc till later hours. I am sure that when everything is working properly a stay at this hotel is really nice.

Decent hotel, but not good value. At the prices they charge, the stay should be perfect. It wasn't. Typical 4 start experience with some high and low points. Nice view. Great jacuzzi in the room. Insufficient manual to the sauna, warn, small low quality towels, leaking coffee machine, window refection providing a view into the next room.

Nice comfortable bed and rooms. We enjoyed a spa room and the huge jakuzzi + sauna in it. Amazing view and location. Somethings are pricey though (mini bar and restaurant). We thought that in this price range the quality could be a bit better (for instance when it comes to quality of towels, coffee machine, more complimentaries for guests -at least a free bottle of water).

The interior design is truly lovely, great location in the city centre. Short walk and you are in the cool street with lots of different cafes and bars. The fitness is screaming for a big revision of the equipment, one of the treadmills was making a horrible noise, and towels in the bathroom definitely need to be urgently replaced. We communicated it upon our check-out.

Celebrated my birthday there. It is a lovely and beautiful place where you can spend few days. Very helpful staff. Definitely will visit again.

Beautiful view of boats on water and the bridge right beside it opens up for big boats to pass....so much fun to watch!
Indoor pool that made my stay memorable.
Train stop right infront, water taxi stop right at the back....touring the city couldn’t get any easier and fun.
Big bed, tv inbuilt into the bathroom mirrors....
Friendly staff, suggested places for me to tour, provided me with maps even.
Highlight of my stay....Manchester United players spent a here for their match in Rotterdam and of course I ran into them (more like stalked them) at the elevator, gym, restaurant....so you never can tell who you run into here.
My favorite part....the food here is amazing! Even their minibars have the best stroop waffles!

Definitely the best hotel I’ve ever been to. The bed was huge and soooo comfortable. Me and my partner booked the room with the jacuzzi and sauna, best choice ever. The jacuzzi was so relaxing, after the bath you can enjoy a nice shower with a massive shower head. The staff was super professional and really friendly. Definitely coming back someday. Thank you for this amazing experience.

Incredibly nice hotel in the middle of Rotterdam, a stone's throw away from the Erasmusbrug. Our room was very stylish and luxury and we specifically enjoyed our sauna and whirlpool very much. For anyone wanting to discover Rotterdam while also having a beautiful place to relax during their stay, I would certainly recommend Mainport.

A minor inconvenience was that checking out took a lot of time, since our room had to be checked before our deposit could be restituted. It is therefore recommended that you pay with a credit card, since you may then use the Express Check-out option.

All in all, however, I would love to come back to Mainport sometime!

Beautiful hotel with an incredible view on the canal. Perfect position in the city center next to the Erasmus Bridge and close to all the restaurants, shops and night life. The hotel has a tasteful and sophisticated design. Very romantic and unique. Rooms are simple but very nice, clean and comfortable. Helpful and kind staff at the reception. Nice lounge in the hall. Recommended.

Wow! Being in field service engineering profession I have been to many hotels in Europe and perhaps this is the best so far. Every aspect is amazing and attention to all the small details is staggering. The gym and pool doesn't keeps up to the overall high class. But rest assure this hotel is absolute delight.

Comfy bed and good location. Gym was also well maintained although quite small. Enjoyed my stay.

My breakfast beans were Luke warm but the rest of the hotel is amazing. Really great crew of staff. The coctails in the downstairs bar were really nice

After we checked out they let us keep a room key for the sauna which made out stay that little bit more relaxing

This hotel is quite possibly, the best hotel we've ever stayed in. We were only here for a moment but we had the most incredible stay.

Checking in was a breeze and when we realised we had forgotten our toothbrushes for the weekend, the staff at the front desk were only more than happy to help.

The room we stayed in overlooking the water was amazing with the jacuzzi, the sauna and the most comfortable bed in the world, really, it's almost impossible to describe how much we enjoyed it.

We ended up paying (quite happily) for a late late afternoon check out so we could enjoy a leisurely brunch (which is open until 12.30PM on the weekends, something every single hotel in the world should do after we've experienced it here!!!!!!!!) and another dip in their spa facilities upstairs.

We're already planning our trip back with much anticipation, so thank you Main Port for the wonderful experience!

Great hotel. Superb beds. Breakfast wasn't as great as the hotel room. They also forgotten to tell us that the breakfast wasn't included. So we needed to pay an extra amount for the used service. Rest of the personal was really friendly.

Excellent location, very close to the tram and subway, provides very easy commute to the Hague, Amsterdam and attractions. The hotel provides a very good view of the area from higher floors, rooms are clean and staff very friendly. Would definitely recommend

Stayed here for two nights in September. Room was on the fifth floor, facing over the water, and had a personal sauna. The room was spacious with a reasonable desk for working at, a large bed, and a good sized wardrobe with some cupboard space. Breakfast was a good spread, with some hot options including eggs cooked to order. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was a little disappointing by comparison - a very brief, and not very interesting, menu.

First time ever I had jacuzzi and sauna right in my room, and I am traveling a lot! Liked the design concept when each hotel floor follows certain continent theme (stayed on the "African" floor).

A trendy luxury hotel with everything you'd expect from a 5* and more. Staff went the extra mile and did so with a smile. Interior is trendy and comfortable. Room was fitted with a jacuzzi and a sauna. Breakfast choice was huge and tasty. Location is great in an upcoming district and walking distance to all highlights in Rotterdam

3rd year staying at this hotel which is truly 5* rating all round...staff are so friendly and accommodating. Nothing was a problem. I contacted hotel prior to my stay to book a vegan breakfast and was served a variety of semi raw veg and assortment of berries and mango...perfect. Great waterfront location, walking distance to various museums and city centre. Rooms very comfortable, fitness area is small but adequate, loved the Spa Heaven. Will be back next year.

This is a very cool hotel. While the styling is not 100% to my taste, I could appreciate the attention to detail and well thought-out designs. The lobby is very nice and the glass elevators were well used here to take in the views. I loved the location right next to the Erasmus Bridge.. and the giant spa tub as well.

Perfect hotel! Booked 2 rooms for my sister's bachelorette party and both were stunning (also great that they have rooms for 3 persons) and had a relaxing jacuzzi. The welness and view on the top floor were great, the only negative thing was that we weren't able to book a massage after 5pm (that day). And that they don't offer parking. But there's a paid parking lot that's really close to the hotel. Location was also good, on walking distance from the center of Rotterdam.

Rooms seem new and modern. Large washroom with full bathtub and stand up shower. Separate toilet. My room was on the same side as the street so it was kind of loud throughout the night. Bed and pillows were comfortable!

Wonderful hotel with comfortable beds and delicious food. Pretty close to the shops and plenty of restaurants. Excellent spa as well, we very much enjoyed our massages.
However, there were some things we found strange. We sat at the lounge area around 12 am, hoping to grab a bite and a drink, but the waitress said it was JUST too late to order food since there is no chef. How can this be if you can also order room service all night (12 am -10 am.) Perhaps they want the extra €5.50 you have to pay for room service?
Breakfast ends at 10 am, a bit early for my taste. It is also NOT included. We get there at 9:30 am and most of the warm food (such as hash browns, beans, hardboiled eggs, sauteed mushrooms) was completely or almost empty. However the staff did have plenty of time to chat loudly with eachother. Eggs benedict also was not available at that time even though it indeed is on the list of options. If the staff is going to stop doing their job before 10 am then they should let the clients know, since you DO have to pay €20 to have such a disappointing breakfast.
We enjoyed our stay very much, but if it wants to get 5 stars from me then some things have to change.

Great hotel in nice location. Some of the comfiest hotel beds I've ever slept in. Got some great tips from the concierge for where to eat and drink. All of which were spot on.

I love this hotel. It's fantastic. I had a room on the 10th floor, which included a personal sauna and jacuzzi overlooking the canal. The bed was soft and the pillows comfortable. The spa was glorious. Pool was lovely and the adult spa was so relaxing. The gym was basic but useful. I had a breakfast in the morning and it was very encompasing. PS: the mini bar has a travel adapter for purchase, just in case!

Very smart hotel in a convenient location. Rooms are modern with all the usual toys (and a few unexpected ones, it is Rotterdam after all). Very easy to find and right next to the canal with a choice of bars and places to visit nearby. Top-spec jacuzzi bath in my room, big enough for two.

For our one year anniversary I decided to goa all out and booked (in my opinion) the best hotel that I could find in Rotterdam. After staying there for one night I have to say that this has been one of the best hotels that I've been to. Only beaten out by a 5 star hotel in Dubai. The location, the service, room, food and activities were all spot on. We're definitely going back.

I wonder, why this is supposed to be 5 star. Just sleek design doesn't do it. Our room (a city XL) was small, the towels had holes, hardly any space to hang your clothes. The service on the terrace was slow, and the tables were not clean. May be too few waiters to take care of the guests? Right next door seems to be a cheap hotel, the Mainport is somehow connected.
The area in front of the hotel is not a nice space to wait for your cab.

This is a luxurious hotel. The room was superb and the staff very friendly. There's a swimming and spa. The location was quite good with a subway entrance just outside the building.

Comfortable place. Conveniently located for the business district as well as for touring the city. Too expensive.

The rooms aren't as big as what you would expect. But I believe this is typical of the Netherlands. The spa is located on the 8th floor, overlooking the river. It has a bit of an industrial feel to it. The spa shares a swimming pool with the adjacent Inntel hotel. So if you are going for a swim- it could get crowded.

Cosy rooms and wonderful bathing tubs. This place is highly recommended for spa treatment. They have a Finnish spa which is free for all guests- just like Japanese onsens, one has to go completely nude. This place is accessible by foot from most parts of the city. Food and drink street is just 500 meters away. Highly recommended for relaxed vacations.

Beautiful hotel located along the waterfront in Rotterdam. The rooms are very comfy with large bathrooms and spa facilities and the bed is gorgeous. We've done a spa treatment which was very good as well. The breakfast offers a wide variety and live cooking as well. It's just a five minute walk to the shopping area and attractions.

Great hotel in a lovely location with fantastic features and facilities!

We went to On the Rock Bar and ordered 2 cocktails for drink, prawns and oysters for snack. They served sushi instead of prawns; and that they switched the drinks caused some confusion. But after all, they fixed their mistakes. Foods and drinks are nice, just rookie mistakes. Should have written down orders and confirm who order which, or at the very least announce them at the table.

Very nice hotel. I've staid there couple of times. They've got a pool, sauna and fitness room with excellent views over the city center and surprisingly, every time I went there it was empty. Unfortunately on my last stay I've had an outdated orange juice from the rooms minibar which made me nauseous. I've called the room service to report it, the staff was apologetic, they have sent a bawl of hot soup to my room and they didn't make me pay for room service.
